Earlier Date: The big news for Tri-State Pipe & Tobacco club is that our fall Fort Wayne Area Pipe Show has been changed to a slightly earlier date--Oct 23, 2010. Although Ft. Wayne is now non-smoking, we have great smoking location in nearby New Haven IN and find ourselves fortunate to be one of the few remaining pipe shows in the U.S. where show attendees and exhibitors can still fire up their pipes. Statewide smoking bans have torpedoed smoking in Fort Wayne, IN; Columbus, OH; and Chicago, IL. (According to Wikipedia Over 50% of all Americans are now covered by smoking bans of some degree)

TSPTC fund-raising raffle through the day. Dozens of great prizes. Tickets $1; need not be present to win.

Pipe-Smoking Contest: Riegel’s Pipe & Tobacco will, for the first time ever, be holding its annual pipe smoking contest during the Saturday afternoon portion of our Show. Each contestant is allowed to bring their own pipe of choice, and will be furnished with 3.3 ounces of Cornell & Diehl’s “Competition Blend” mixture, as well as two wooden matches. One minute is allowed for contestants to light their pipes. No relights are permitted, and all remaining matches will be taken up. Last one remaining whose pipe is still lit will be the first-place winner, but no participant has ever departed without a prize
